Roundtable Discussion and Q & A

Broadband Internet technologies are already bringing, and will increasingly deliver, a host of new products and services to consumers and businesses. Innovation in this sector will likely drive the U.S. economy in the coming years. These new technologies, however, also make possible activities that, at best, disrupt content providers' traditional business models, and, according to some, threaten to destroy the ability of inventors, innovators, artists, and others to protect their works.

Our June Tech Forum briefing will address the interplay between technological innovation and intellectual property protections. We will examine the tension (if any) between these two concepts, and what tools might be available to policy makers seeking to reconcile these issues.

Led by U.S. Senators Jay Rockefeller and Bill Frist, the Forum advocates no particular position or policy prescription. Our sole purpose is to inform. Our briefings are nonpartisan, balanced, and open to the public and the media.
