Cell Phone Location Technology: How Do We Protect Privacy While Saving Lives?
May 24, 2001

The FCC, through its E-911 mandate, will require wireless telecommunications service providers to determine the physical location of callers who dial 911 from mobile phones with a high degree of accuracy. Real-time location information on wireless phone users is both commercially valuable and highly sensitive. The availability of such information opens the possibility of utilizing this information for law enforcement, location-based direct marketing, and a host of other purposes.

Senator Jay Rockefeller and Senator Bill Frist invite you to join them for a discussion of privacy and wireless location technology.
