Forum on Technology & Innovation - RegistrationResponding to Change: Policy makers in Congress are working in an ever-changing, increasingly challenging climate. Rapid innovation, new technologies, dramatic advances in the physical and life sciences, and the emergence of a knowledge-based economy - all of these developments are transforming the social and economic landscape within which Congress must legislate. Authoritative: The Forum on Technology and Innovation (the Tech forum) gives policy makers the tools to negotiate this new world through an ongoing series of lunchtime policy briefings on Capitol Hill. At these briefings, members of Congress and their staffs have access to balanced, unbiased, reliable information from leaders in science, technology and innovation. Timely: The Tech Forum's briefings cover compelling issues that legislators and their constituents are most concerned about today. These include (among others) cyber-crime, cyber-terrorism, privacy, electronic commerce, internet taxation and access to high-band-width communications. Balanced: The Tech Forum is dedicated to presenting a range of views on all of the issues we cover. Members of Congress and their staffs will hear from industry leaders, scientists, journalists and other policy experts. The aim is to ensure that policy makers come away with the facts they need to make more informed legislative decisions. |
