The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Agrees to Renew Funding for the Forum on Technology & Innovation

October 20, 2003

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, one of the original funders of the Forum on Technology & Innovation, has agreed to renew their support for an additional two years through 2005. The Forum is an initiative of the Council on Competitiveness and is supported by grants from private foundations.

The renewal by the Sloan Foundation is a strong validation of the Forum's mission to educate a cadre of tech-savvy staff on Capitol Hill. The breadth and complexity of technology policy issues continues to challenge policymakers as they seek to legislate in this field. The Forum plays a key role in providing an unbiased foundation of knowledge on which to base their decisions.

The Tech Forum is chaired by Sen. Ron Wyden (D- Oregon) and Sen. John Ensign (R-Nevada), in partnership with the Council on Competitiveness. Our sole purpose is to inform; the Tech Forum advocates no particular position or policy prescriptions. Our briefings are nonpartisan and open to the media.
